The Liberty women's soccer program has announced the completion of its schedule for the upcoming 2008 season.

The 18-game slate is highlighted by a trip to Florida for two non-conference games in the middle of September. It also includes seven home contests, featuring the first-ever meeting with Navy, a 2008 NCAA tournament participant.

The Lady Flames will open the 2008 campaign with three road contests. Liberty will open the season on Aug. 22 at Longwood, followed a week later by a visit to NCAA tournament participant Virginia on Aug. 29. The Lady Flames will then complete the road swing with a match at Old Dominion on Sept. 5.

Liberty takes to Liberty Soccer Field for its first home contest of 2008 on Sept. 12 against Navy. Southern Virginia then visits on Sept. 16.

The following weekend, Liberty will travel to Florida for two contests. The Lady Flames will meet Florida Southern on Sept. 19 in the first game of the trip. The Moccasins are coached by former Liberty Women's Soccer Assistant Coach and men's soccer player, Ben Strawbridge. Two days later, the Lady Flames will square off with Stetson in DeLand, Fla.

Liberty will then finish the month of September with the start of Big South Conference play. The Lady Flames will host VMI on Sept. 24 and Charleston Southern on Sept. 27.

October continues with conference play on Oct. 3 at Coastal Carolina. The Lady Flames will then face non-conference opponent, Francis Marion, two days later to finish the road swing.

The Lady Flames then jump back into conference play with home games against defending Big South champion High Point (Oct. 8) and UNC Asheville (Oct. 11). The Lady Flames will travel to Radford (Oct. 15), Big South newcomer Gardner-Webb (Oct. 23) and Winthrop (Oct. 25) during the month in conference play. Liberty will also host future Big South member Presbyterian on Oct. 18.

The Lady Flames will conclude the regular season on Oct. 31 at home against non-conference opponent East Tennessee State. The following week, Liberty will try to capture its fourth Big South crown at the 2008 Women's Soccer Big South Championship, scheduled for Nov. 6-9 in High Point, N.C.
