P.K. Keller was selected to the 2008 Big South All-Conference first team, which was announced today.

Liberty outfielder P.K. Keller has been named to the Big South all-conference first team, while pitcher David Stokes and catcher Errol Hollinger received second-team honors, the league announced this afternoon, before Game 2 of the 2008 Big South Baseball Championship, between the No. 2 seed Liberty Flames and No. 6 seed Radford Highlanders. David Giammaresi was selected to the conference's all-academic team.

Keller (Sr., Clearwater, Fla.) was the lone Liberty player on the all-conference first team. In his final season with the Flames, the senior outfielder enters the 2008 Big South Championship this week, leading the conference with 21 doubles. The total ties him for third on Liberty's all-time season two-base hit list. He is also tied for 10th in the conference with 43 RBIs. Keller is currently second on the Flames with a .337 batting average. He has also hit four home runs and leads Liberty with 13 multi-RBI games.

Stokes (Sr., RHP, Locust Grove, Okla.) was voted to the Big South all-conference second team as a starting pitcher. The right-hander enters the week as the conference leader with 90.1 innings pitched and is tied for the Big South lead with 79 strikeouts. The senior tops the conference with eight wins and is also ranked third with a 2.89 ERA. He enters his start this week at the Big South Championship looking to extend his three-game win streak and improve his current season mark of 8-4.

Stokes' battery mate, Hollinger (Jr., C, Upland, Calif.), also received second-team honors. The catcher is currently third in the Big South with 58 runs scored and is sixth in the conference with 74 hits and 117 total bases. On the season, the junior has hit .323 with 17 doubles, eight home runs and 39 RBIs. Hollinger has also been outstanding defensively, allowing only two passed balls this season and throwing out 22 base runners.

Giammaresi (Sr., 1B, Coral Springs, Fla.) was named to the Big South All-Academic team for the second-straight season. Currently pursuing a MBA, the first baseman posted a 3.67 GPA as an undergraduate and, in his first semester as a graduate student, recorded a 3.6 GPA. He is a three-time Big South Presidential Honor Roll honoree and was selected to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA District 3 All-Academic second team.

No. 2 seed Liberty will meet No. 6 seed Radford this afternoon in Game 2 of the Big South Championship at Dan Daniel Memorial Park in Danville, Va. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
