The Flames are listed in the Top 25 for the fourth-straight week, coming in at No. 17 this week.

The Liberty men's track & field team, which won events at both the Drake Relays and the Penn Relays this past weekend, is ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25 for the fourth consecutive week. The Flames are listed No. 17 in the current poll.

Senior Clendon Henderson (Meadow, Texas) remained unbeaten in the discus this season, throwing 181-11 to capture the Drake Relays crown on Saturday. He is ranked No. 2 nationally in the event, and is one of a trio of Flames seniors currently listed in the top three of their respective disciplines. Brandon Hoskins (Garden City, Texas) currently sits third in the nation on the decathlon list with a score of 7,800, while Josh McDougal (Peru, N.Y.) owns the same position on the 5,000-meter chart as a result of his 13:37.13 effort.

Sophomore Evans Kigen (Eldoret, Kenya) was the Flames' other event champion last weekend. The Big South Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week ran a personal-best 29:16.12 in the Penn Relays 10K to claim a 20-second victory and provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Kigen is Liberty's lone addition to this week's national performance list, checking in at No. 23 on the 10,000-meter ledger.

LSU retains the No. 1 spot in this week's poll, but is followed closely by new No. 2 Texas A&M and No. 3 Florida State.

The Flames will take part in two meets in the next four days. Tomorrow, Liberty will host its final meet of the 2008 outdoor season, the Liberty Twilight Qualifier. Action at the Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m. Some Liberty athletes will also head to Durham, N.C., on Sunday for the Duke Twilight Meet.
