The Liberty women's basketball team will play host to Bluefield State (Nov. 12) and James Madison (Nov. 19) for its first two home games at Liberty Arena, it was announced today.

The Bluefield State contest will serve as the Lady Flames' 2020-21 season opener. One week later, Liberty and JMU will face off on the hardwood for the 14th time in the last 15 seasons.

Liberty will look to continue a home winning streak as it moves next door to Liberty Arena. The Lady Flames won five straight contests at the Vines Center to close out the 2019-20 season.

Bluefield State, an NCAA Division II independent team from Bluefield, W.Va., is coming off a 16-12 season. The Lady Blues reached the semifinals of the 2020 USCAA National Tournament before the remainder of the event was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Liberty is 5-2 all-time against Bluefield State. The most recent matchup saw the Lady Flames post an 82-46 victory at the Vines Center on Dec. 13, 2012.
