Keyen Green was voted to the VaSID all-state team for the second time in her career.
Liberty redshirt junior post player Keyen Green was honored as one of the Commonwealth's best women's basketball players on Thursday. She has been voted to the 2019-20 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division All-State second team.
Green earned second team all-state honors for the second time in her career, adding to her previous recognition in 2017-18. The Philadelphia, Pa., native is the first Lady Flame to make multiple appearances on the VaSID all-state squad since Ashley Rininger in 2013-14 and 2014-15.
A first team All-ASUN performer, Green paced the Lady Flames in points (13.9 ppg), rebounds (7.5 rpg), blocked shots (0.7 bpg) and field goal percentage (.590). Her field goal percentage ranked No. 1 in the ASUN and No. 11 nationally. Green's 13.9 ppg scoring average was the highest by a Lady Flame since the 2013-14 season.
Green scored her 1,000th career point during a Jan. 11 win over Jacksonville, becoming the 16th member of Liberty's 1,000-point club. She finished that contest with 29 points and 16 rebounds, becoming the first Lady Flame to tally 20+ points and 15+ rebounds in the same game since March 10, 2012 (Avery Warley).
Green finished her Liberty career ranked No. 9 in program history for points (1,215), No. 10 for rebounds (673) and tied for No. 8 in both double-doubles (17) and 20-point games (13).
