Wilson is now a three-time ASUN Player of the Week, this season.

Liberty men's tennis sophomore Josh Wilson garnered ASUN Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, Wednesday.

Wilson now leads all ASUN competitors with three player of the week awards, this spring. The sophomore also received the accolade twice in February (Feb. 12 and 26). Wilson's honor is the fourth ASUN Player of the Week recognition of his career since Liberty joined the ASUN in 2018-19.

The Flames have a conference-best four ASUN Player of the Week awards through nine weeks.

The native of Reigate, United Kingdom won in doubles and singles at nationally-ranked No. 38 Virginia, last Saturday. In doubles, Wilson and partner Goncalo Ferreira won on court one, defeating UVA's Gianni Ross and William Woodall 6-1.

He followed up his doubles triumph with a three-set victory over the Cavaliers' Matthew Lord in the No. 2 slot, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. Liberty fell 4-3 to Virginia, the first time in program history the Flames came within a point of victory versus UVA. Wilson improved to 7-3 in spring singles matches (all at No. 2 singles) and 16-6 overall on the year with the win.

Wilson and the Flames (8-5) are back in action today at No. 50 San Diego, Liberty's third ranked opponent in five days. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. Eastern at the Hogan Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
