Liberty sophomore Abigail Egolf-Jensen competed in three-meter diving at the NCAA Division I Women's Diving Zone A Championships, Tuesday at West Virginia's Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va.

Egolf-Jensen placed 49th in a talented field of divers, scoring 220 points for her six-dive program.

During this week's three-day meet, the top 18 from morning prelims each day qualify for evening finals. The top six combined scores from prelims and finals in one-meter diving qualify for the 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.

• So. Abigail Egolf-Jensen – Three-meter diving (6) – 220.00 (49th place in prelims)

Notable
• Zone A includes schools from Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine and the District of Columbia.

• Egolf-Jensen finished her sophomore season this week, as she finished 35th in one-meter diving yesterday before earning 49th in three-meter today.

• Lauren Chennault, who qualified to compete in this meet, was unable to dive this week. Chennault, the 2020 Co-Most Outstanding Diver of the CCSA Meet, competed at NCAA Zone Championships last year alongside Robinson and Egolf-Jensen.

• Olivia Robinson, who competed in one-meter diving yesterday, will be Liberty's lone competitor on platform tomorrow. Last year, Robinson became the first Liberty diver to qualify for a Zone Diving final, finishing 15th on platform.  

Historically Speaking
• This is the second straight NCAA postseason appearance for Liberty's divers. The Lady Flames are attempting to qualify for the 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, held in Athens, Ga., March 18-21.

- Liberty has sent swimmers to the NCAA Championships five times in program history, and junior Payton Keiner will represent the Lady Flames in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke this year.

Tomorrow, Robinson will compete in the platform competition, with prelims beginning at noon. Zone A will receive five qualifications to the NCAA Championships in platform diving.
