Liberty continued its successful diving season today, with a pair of Lady Flame competing in one-meter diving at the NCAA Division I Women's Diving Zone A Championships, Monday at West Virginia's Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va.

Liberty sophomores Abigail Egolf-Jensen and Olivia Robinson both competed in one-meter diving prelims on day one.

During this week's three-day meet, the top 18 from morning prelims each day qualify for evening finals. The top five combined scores from prelims and finals in one-meter diving qualify for the 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.

Liberty's Top Performers
• So. Abigail Egolf-Jensen – One-meter diving (6) – 230.30 (35th place in prelims)

• So. Olivia Robinson – One-meter diving (6) – 188.25 (56th place in prelims)

Notable
• Zone A includes schools from Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine and the District of Columbia.

• Lauren Chennault, who qualified to compete in this meet, was unable to dive today but may be available for tomorrow's competition on three-meter springboard. Chennault, the 2020 Co-Most Outstanding Diver of the CCSA Meet, competed at NCAA Zone Championships last year alongside Robinson and Egolf-Jensen.

Historically Speaking
• This is the second straight NCAA postseason appearance for Liberty's divers. The Lady Flames are attempting to qualify for the 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, held in Athens, Ga., March 18-21.

- Liberty has sent swimmers to the NCAA Championships five times in program history, and junior Payton Keiner will represent the Lady Flames in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke this year.

Tomorrow, Chennault, Egolf-Jensen and Robinson will compete in the three-meter springboard competition, with prelims beginning at noon. Zone A will receive six qualifications to the NCAA Championships in one-meter diving.
