No. 35 Liberty returns to the links to begin its March schedule on Monday when they open play at the 2020 General Hackler Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The two-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Coastal Carolina at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club (par 72, 7,233 yards) for the 19th consecutive season of competition.

Included in the 15-team field are six teams who have previously won this event: Coastal Carolina (2005), ETSU (2006, 2010), Wake Forest (2008, 2009, 2017), North Florida (2012, 2015, 2019), Kent State (2013) and South Carolina (2016).

The 2020 General Hackler Championships starts play on Monday where the 15-team field will play 36-continuous holes with a shotgun start at 7:40 a.m. The 18-hole final round will be played on Tuesday, with golfers going off the No. 1 and No. 10 tees starting at 7:40 a.m.

Tournament Reflections – Liberty's Previous Showing at the General Hackler Championship:
• 2020 will mark the third-consecutive appearance for Liberty at this event.
• The Flames finished in 12th place in 2018, while taking third place in 2019.
• Liberty posted a 15-under par 849 (282-276-291) at the event, finishing six strokes behind North Florida's winning score of 21-under par 843 (278-276-289).
• Liberty's Ervin Chang led the Flames with a 9-under par 207 (70-68-69), finishing the tournament tied for third place.
• Kieran Vincent also finished in red figures, carding a 4-under par 212 (70-70-72) to share 10th place.

From the 18th Green – Recapping Liberty's Last Time Out:
• The Flames wrapped up three-consecutive trips to Florida with a third-place finish at the 2020 Seminole Intercollegiate, Feb. 22-23.
• Liberty finished the two-day event with a 9-over par 873 (297-285-291), carding at the Golden Eagle Country Club (par 72, 6,965 yards), the home course of Florida State.
• The Flames Jonathan Yaun, a native of the "Sunshine State", paced the way for Liberty. The sophomore, who hails from Minneola, Fla., finished as the runner-up with a 6-under par 210 (74-67-69).
• Kieran Vincent, who was ranked No. 82 in the country at the time of the event, finished the event tied for 19th place with a 3-over par 219 (74-71-74).

Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes:
• Entering the month of March, Liberty is currently ranked No. 35 in the latest Golfstat national rankings.
• The General Hackler Championship will pit the Flames against fellow ASUN foe North Florida for the fourth-straight event this spring.
• As a team, Liberty finished the fall season with a 284.0 stroke average, the second-best fall team stroke average in school history.
• Four out of Liberty's starting five golfers finished the fall season with an individual stroke average below 72.0.
• Liberty enters the spring portion of its 2019-20 schedule looking to make its ninth trip to the NCAA Regionals in the last 10 years.
