Brant Tolsma announced the addition of mid-year transfers Anna Hostetler, Juan Pablo Germain Ronco and Travis Riley to the Liberty track & field/cross country rosters.

As the Flames prepare to begin their 2020 indoor track & field season this weekend, Liberty Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Brant Tolsma announced the addition of three mid-year transfers to his teams' rosters. The trio of Anna Hostetler (women's distance runner from Iowa), Juan Pablo Germain Ronco (men's hurdler from Universidad del Desarrollo in Chile) and Travis Riley (men's jumper from Kentucky) are all immediately eligible to compete this season.

"It's always exciting to have impact athletes join our program in January, and this group is probably the most talented group to ever join Liberty at the semester break," Tolsma stated. "They should immediately strengthen the program and all three could see competition at national championships in their future. We're eager to see how God will use them."

Hostetler comes to Liberty as a sophomore after beginning her collegiate career with one and a half years at Iowa. While competing for the Hawkeyes, she clocked track times of 9:35.10 (3K) and 16:47.05 (5K). A native of Parnell, Iowa, Hostetler was an eight-time Iowa state champion at Mid-Prairie High School between track and cross country. This fall, she will be reunited with younger sister Marie Hostetler, who has signed a national letter of intent to attend Liberty.

Germain Ronco, hailing from Santiago, Chile, becomes the second Chilean on the men's track & field roster (Jose Ballivian). The owner of a 13.89 personal best for the collegiate 110 hurdles, Germain Ronco has gained a considerable amount of international experience. At the 2018 South American Under-23 Championships, he earned a silver medal in the 4 x 100 relay and took bronze in the 110 hurdles. Germain Ronco was the 12th-place finisher in the 110 hurdles at the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships, one year after taking fourth in the 110 hurdles at the 2015 IAAF World Youth Championships. A versatile athlete, he also owns personal bests of 6-3.25 (high jump), 22-7.75 (long jump) and 47-1.75 (triple jump).

Riley will use his final year of collegiate eligibility at Liberty after spending the last two seasons at Kentucky. He long jumped at the 2018 NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round meet after reaching 25-0.5 at that year's Florida Relays. During his second year at Western Texas College in 2017, Riley was the NJCAA indoor long jump runner-up and outdoor long jump third-place finisher. He posted personal-best marks of 25-9.25 (long jump) and 50-4.5 (triple jump) during his time in the Lone Star State. A Kingston, Jamaica native, Riley was the 2015 Penn Relays high school long jump runner-up as a senior at Calabar High School.

Hostetler, Germain Ronco and Riley are all expected to make their Liberty debuts at this weekend's season-opening Virginia Tech Invitational. The meet is slated for Friday and Saturday at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.
