Farrell and Jayroe earned USC honors.
A pair of Liberty women's soccer players earned United Soccer Coaches (USC) honors as Melody Jayroe was named to the All-Atlantic Third Team as well as the Women's Scholar All-South Region Team. Joining Jayroe was Gabrielle Farrell as she was named to the All-Atlantic Third Team as well.
"We are really excited that both Mel and Gabby were recognized by coaches in the region for their excellent performances this season," head coach Lang Wedemeyer said. "Both players were instrumental in helping our team have a successful season and win some historic games."
Jayroe was exceptional all season as she was named the ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year while also being named First Team All-ASUN. Jayroe put together an impressive ASUN campaign allowing just two goals in eight games. Jayroe and the backline played its best soccer during conference play as they did not allow an ASUN team to score a goal during regulation. Jayroe ranks second in school history with 20 career shutouts, tied with Karen Blocker (2008-12), as the junior posted eight shutouts this season.
Farrell was a dominant force on offense scoring 10 goals this season, which is tied for the fifth most in a single season in school history. Of the 10 goals Farrell scored this season, seven were game-winning goals, which puts her career total at 18 game-winning goals. Farrell earned all-conference honors in all four seasons at Liberty as she currently ranks second in school history in career goals (24), third in career points (62) and fifth in career assists (14). Farrell was named First Team All-Conference to close out her college career at Liberty.
