(L-R) White, Quast and Fletcher have been announced as the captains of the 2020 women's lacrosse squad.

The Liberty women's lacrosse squad has selected seniors Carly White, Hannah Quast and Grace Fletcher as its three captains for the upcoming spring 2020 season.

"We are so excited for this year's leadership. I am beyond proud of this senior class. They have been leaders since they stepped foot on this campus four years ago, and they have grown into mature, responsible young women," said head coach Kelly Nangle. "We are excited to watch Carly, Hannah and Grace lead this team with a perfect balance of heart, conviction and confidence. These young women are on a mission, and we couldn't be happier to come alongside them and continue to lead this team to places we have never been."

White, a midfielder, is the first player in program history to earn first team all-conference distinction in each of her first three seasons (two in Big South, one in ASUN).

An ASUN All-Conference first team and VaSID All-State second team selection in 2019, White finished No. 9 in the country in free-position percentage (.650) and No. 10 in ground balls per game (3.26) during her junior campaign. She led the team in points (61) and ground balls (62) and finished tied for first in draw controls (79). The Marietta, Ga., native also was second on the squad in assists (24), tied for second in goals (37) and third in caused turnovers (26).

White, who also garnered inclusion on the ASUN Academic Honor Roll, enters her senior campaign ranked third in program history in draw controls (165), fourth in ground balls (147), fourth in assists (56), fifth in caused turnovers (73), seventh in points (146) and ninth in goals (90). She will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.

Quast, a midfielder, is a two-time all-conference selection, earning second team All-ASUN honors in 2019 and Big South honorable mention distinction in 2018. The Mullica Hill, N.J., native set career highs in goals (24), ground balls (30) and caused turnovers (22) during her junior campaign.

In three seasons, Quast has totaled 57 goals, 11 assists, 68 points, 62 ground balls, 42 caused turnovers and 17 draw controls. Quast will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies.

Fletcher, an attacker, has exhibited consistent play throughout her Liberty career. The Springfield, Va., native totaled 14 goals, three assists, 17 points, 19 ground balls and three caused turnovers last spring. Fletcher garnered inclusion on the 2019 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll and also received ASUN Academic Honor Roll recognition.

In 55 career games, she has 42 goals, 10 assists, 52 points, 50 ground balls, 18 draw controls and nine caused turnovers. Fletcher will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in public health: health promotion.

Liberty's spring 2020 schedule will be announced at a later date. Last spring, the Lady Flames posted a 14-5 overall record, the most wins in program history. Liberty went 5-1 in the ASUN and finished as the runner-up at the 2019 ASUN Lacrosse Championship in its first year in the league.
