Liberty field hockey's Lizzie Hamlett was named to the BIG EAST All-Tournament team following the conclusion of today's BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship title game.

Hamlett, a sophomore midfielder for the Lady Flames, scored in the 19th minute of No. 19 Liberty's semifinal game against No. 18 Old Dominion, Friday afternoon at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium. The goal was her fifth of the season and tied the game at 1-1. No. 2 seed ODU ended up prevailing by a 3-1 score over No. 3 seed Liberty. The Lady Flames finished the fall with a 10-8 overall mark and 5-2 record in BIG EAST regular-season play.

The Lady Flames have featured 12 players on the BIG EAST All-Tournament team in four seasons. Liberty has participated in the BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship in each of its four years in the league, making the title game in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

UConn (18-3), the top seed and No. 3 team in the country, topped Old Dominion 2-0 in the championship game on Sunday afternoon to earn the conference's automatic berth into the 2019 Division I Field Hockey Championship.
