Fuchs Named ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week

The conclusion to the Flames' fall schedule was an award-winning event for Alexandre Fuchs, helping the junior earn ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week honors.

Fuchs finished the 2019 Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic Invitational tied for eighth place. During the three-day event hosted in Ka'anapali, Hawaii, Fuchs fired a career low round of 10-under par 203 (69-67-68) on the Ka'anapali Golf Course (par 71, 6,700 yards).

Fuchs is the third Flame to take home an ASUN men's golf weekly award this fall, joining Kieran Vincent (Sept. 5) and Jonathan Yaun (Oct. 24).

The native of Mouans-Sartoux, France tied for the fifth-best individual 54-hole total in program history with his 10-under par 203.

Fuchs carded a trio of sub-70 rounds during the tournament, giving him seven on the season and 14 for his career.

The junior led the 119-man field in par-5 scoring, posting a 3.78 scoring average (11-under par) on the par-5 holes. He finished the tournament with a pair of eagles.

Fuchs' career-low total helped Liberty establish a new program record. The Flames finished the event in sixth place with a 29-under par 823 (272-272-279), besting the program's previous 54-hole team scoring record by 16 strokes.

The tournament field included: No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 15 Clemson, No. 18 Washington, No. 19 Georgia, No. 23 UCLA, No. 31 South Carolina and No. 44 Kansas.

Liberty finished the tournament ahead of No. 15 Clemson (9th place/23-under par 829) and No. 44 Kansas (8th place/25-under par 827)
