The Flames Invitational will be held this weekend at the Cook Tennis Center.
The Liberty men's tennis team will close out its fall schedule by hosting the Flames Invitational, Friday through Sunday at the Cook Tennis Center.
This is the team's second home invite this season, with the squad also opening its fall campaign with the Liberty University Invitational, Sept. 13-15. All nine Flames players are set to compete at the three-day event. This marks the first time this season that Liberty has had a full roster compete at a tournament.

Schedule/Format/Results: Friday, 1 p.m. start: Two rounds of doubles, one round of singles Saturday, 9 a.m. start: Two rounds of singles Sunday, 9 a.m. start: One round of doubles, one round of singles
There will be eight pods of four players for singles, where each player will play everyone in the pod. For the final match, the winner of each pod will play a winner from the next best pod. The pod format will ensure that nobody plays a teammate. For doubles, there will be four pods of four doubles teams, with each team playing every other team in its pod.
Draw placement will be based on ITA national ranking, UTR and coaches' lineup order. Results will be available on LibertyFlames.com/menstennis at the conclusion of each day.
Tournament Breakdown: |Liberty's Nicaise Muamba and Ian Sturgill pace the team with nine singles victories apiece, followed by eight victories from Steve Mundt and seven wins apiece from Chase Burton and Deji Thomas-Smith.
In doubles, Muamba and Thomas-Smith lead the way with a 5-1 mark, which they accomplished at last month's ITA Atlantic Regional when they reached the doubles main draw final. Thomas-Smith also went 3-0 with Mundt in doubles at the Liberty University Invitational in September on the way to winning a doubles title.
Goncalo Ferreira and Josh Wilson are 3-0 as a pairing and won a doubles crown on their home courts at the Cook Tennis Center as well.
