The Liberty swimming & diving team picked up a 203-134 win over CCSA opponent UNC Asheville in a two-day meet which wrapped up on Saturday at the Liberty Natatorium.

The Lady Flames improved to 4-1 on the season while UNC Asheville fell to 1-4.

One big highlight in the meet came from sophomore Lauren Chennault, who set a new program record in one-meter diving (289.43) today.

• Chennault (289.43) broke her own program record in one-meter diving, qualifying for the 2020 NCAA Zone Diving Championships, which will be held in Morgantown, W.Va., March 9-11. Olivia Robinson qualified for the Zone Championships in one-meter diving in the season opener at Penn State, while Chennault and Abigail Egolf-Jensen both qualified in three-meter last night.

• Liberty posted 1-2-3 finishes in one-meter diving (Chennault, Egolf-Jenson, Kaylyn Goehl), platform diving (Egolf-Jensen, Chennault, Goehl), 400 medley relay, 100 backstroke (Keiner, Weiss, Shelby Haines) and 100 breaststroke (Schellenboom, Rippey, Alexis Plogger).

• Keiner (55.46 – 100 back), Chennault (289.43 – one-meter diving), Egolf-Jensen (223.28 – platform diving) and Ashley Sennett (18:14.01 – 1650 freestyle) all posted the best performance by a Lady Flame in those respective events so far this season.

• Liberty is now 5-0 all-time in dual meets against UNC Asheville.

• The Lady Flames are now 11-0 all-time at Liberty Natatorium.  

• Liberty is 27-1 in its last 28 dual meets overall.

Historically Speaking
• In addition to Chennault's program-record one-meter diving score, Kendal Irwin (227.78) moved into sixth place in program history in one-meter while Kaylyn Goehl (224.78) is now seventh and Allison Van Milligan (207.83) 10th.    

• In platform diving, Egolf-Jensen (223.28), Goehl (174.60), Irwin (160.05) and Van Milligan are now third through sixth in program history in that order.
