Bolton was honored as BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week.
Liberty field hockey's Jill Bolton was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, Monday.
This is the first offensive player of the week honor for Bolton, who is a two-time All-BIG EAST selection.
Bolton, a junior forward who hails from Souderton, Pa., tallied two goals, two assists and six points in a pair of games, last week. She scored in the 58th minute of No. 13 Liberty's 5-1 road win at Quinnipiac on Friday and also added a pair of assists on first half goals from Daniella Rhodes and Charlotte Vaanhold.
Bolton scored the Lady Flames' only goal in the ninth minute of a 2-1 overtime loss at No. 19 Harvard, Sunday. The goal was her sixth of the season and 25th of her career. She is now one of seven players in program history with 25 or more career goals and the only active player with at least that many goals. Bolton is second on the team in goals (6) and points (16) and tied for second on the squad in assists (4) through nine games.
Liberty has featured six players in the BIG EAST Weekly Awards through six weeks, including a pair of offensive players of the week (Bolton and Rhodes), two freshman of the week honors (both Rhodes) and a pair of weekly honor roll recipients (Rhodes and Dykema).
Bolton and the 13th-ranked Lady Flames (7-2, 3-0 BIG EAST) will look to stay unbeaten in league play when they host the 22nd-ranked Old Dominion Monarchs (6-4, 2-1 BIG EAST) on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Liberty Field Hockey Field.
