Liberty Finishes William & Mary ITA Hall of Fame Classic with 10 Total Wins

Liberty women's tennis finished the third and final day of the William & Mary ITA Hall of Fame Classic by winning one doubles match on Sunday. The Lady Flames combined to win 10 total matches (eight singles, two doubles) over the course of the weekend.

Liberty's Grace Hashiguchi and Esther Lovato teamed up to defeat Penn State's Sydney Weinberg and Gracey Hirsch 8-2. The victory was Hashiguchi and Lovato's first-ever triumph as a pairing.

The three-day tournament was held at the Millie West Tennis Facility (outdoor courts) and McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center (indoor courts).

The Lady Flames' Tiffany Nguyen, Caisey Lee Emery and Alexandra Almborg each dropped close three-set battles on Sunday. Nguyen and fellow newcomer Lovato led Liberty with two singles victories apiece, this weekend.

Liberty's next tournament in which they will have multiple players competing at will be the Liberty Invite, Oct. 12-13 at the Cook Tennis Center. Senior Kalani Soli, who played at the Oracle ITA Masters this weekend in California, will compete at the ITA Women's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., starting next Saturday.
