Saturday's Top Storylines
1. Liberty (0-1) will travel to Louisiana (0-1, 0-0 Sun Belt) on Saturday for the Flames' first-ever matchup with the Ragin' Cajuns and Liberty's only road game before the month of October. Both teams lost their season openers to Power Five foes (Liberty vs. No. 22/22 Syracuse and Louisiana vs. Mississippi State).
2. The Flames will look to continue their success against Sun Belt Conference opponents. Liberty is 3-0 all-time versus Sun Belt foes, including 2-0 on the road. Last season, the Flames notched a 22-16 home win over eventual Sun Belt East co-champion Troy.
3. Head Coach Hugh Freeze's squad's first-ever visit to the state of Louisiana will see the Flames look to halt a four-game road losing skid and avoid their first 0-2 start since 2012.
4. Liberty senior QB Stephen Calvert appears on the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Preseason Watch List. The fourth-year starter ranks No. 4 among active FBS QBs in both passing yards (8,596) and passing TDs (program-record 65).
5. Senior WR Antonio Gandy-Golden, Biletnikoff Award Watch List member, has been Calvert's most frequent target throughout his career. He recorded his 11th career 100-yard game vs. Syracuse, hauling in six passes for 119 yards.
6. The Flames' defense forced three turnovers versus Syracuse. Redshirt senior CB Bejour Wilson nabbed his fourth career interception, the most of any active Flame.

A Liberty Win Would ...
• Maintain the Flames' perfect all-time record (4-0) versus Sun Belt Conference opponents.
• Avoid the Flames' first 0-2 start since opening the 2012 season (Turner Gill's first at Liberty) at 0-4.
• Make the Flames 1-1 after two games for the second straight year and the sixth time in the last seven seasons.
• Snap the Flames' four-game road losing streak.
• Halt Louisiana's four-game home winning streak and make the Flames the first non-conference team to win at Cajun Field since Boise State on Sept. 3, 2016.
• Improve the Flames' all-time record to 4-6 when playing 1,000 or miles away from Lynchburg.
• Make Louisiana the 17th different state where the Flames have won a game in program history.
