Chicago White Sox outfielder and former Flame Ryan Cordell

With the professional baseball ranks well into their 2019 season, LibertyFlames.com takes a look at former Flames currently playing in Major League Baseball organizations this summer.

Ryan Cordell (2011-13)
Chicago White Sox

Cordell is enjoying his first full season in the major leagues with the Chicago White Sox. The outfielder enters the White Sox's contest with the New York Mets on Tuesday, hitting .234 with five home runs, 18 RBI and 15 runs scored. He has seen action in 69 games, mainly as Chicago's right fielder. 

D.J. Artis (2016-18)
South Bend Cubs
Chicago Cubs – Midwest League (A – Full Season)

After playing a few games in the Arizona League, Artis was promoted to the South Bend Cubs of the Midwest League. Entering play today, Artis has hit .267 with 21 RBI and 35 runs scored. The all-time base on balls leader at Liberty, the outfielder has shown the same at the professional level, walking 29 times and posting a .378 on base percentage in 49 games with South Bend.

Jackson Bertsch (2016-18)
Pulaski Yankees
New York Yankees – Appalachian League (Rookie Advanced)

After starting his professional career last season in the Gulf Coast League, Bertsch has advance to the Pulaski Yankees of the Appalachian League this season. The right-hander has posted a 1-0 with a save in 10 appearances. He has struck out 21 over 11 2/3 innings of work.

Evan Brabrand (2018-19)
Batavia Muckdogs
Miami Marlins – New York – Penn League (Rookie Short Season)

The 2019 All-American is off to a strong start to his professional career for Batavia. Brabrand enters the week with a 2-1 record and eight saves in 11 appearances for the first place Muckdogs. The right-hander has posted a 2.61 ERA and struck out 14 in 10 1/3 innings of work.

Jack DeGroat (2016-18)
AZL Indians Red
Cleveland Indians – Arizona League (Rookie)

DeGroat continues to rehab from injury and has yet to pitch in a game for the Indians' organization, this season.

Jonathan Embry (2016-19)
Hudson Valley Renegades
Tampa Bay Rays – New York – Penn League (Rookie Short Season)

The 2019 ASUN Player of the Year, Embry has played in 14 games for the Wappingers Falls, N.Y.-based Hudson Valley Renegades. The catcher enters the week with a .300 on base percentage.

Andrew McInvale (2018-19)
GCL Blue Jays

Toronto Blue Jays – Gulf Coast League (Rookie)

McInvale has appeared in three games for the Blue Jays in the Gulf Coast League. The right-hander has made one start and two relief appearances, with his last outing coming on July 18.

Tre Todd (2018)
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes

Los Angeles Dodgers – California League (Class A Advanced)

Todd has played for three different teams this season as he advances in the Dodgers' organization. Recently called up to the Quakes, Todd has appeared in 14 games and has an on base percentage of .378.

Texas Rangers
Coaching Staff – Assistant Coach

Beasley is in his fifth season with the Texas Rangers and his 19th year as a professional coach. For the second consecutive year, Beasley is serving as the Rangers' third base coach. The Rangers under the direction of first-year manager Chris Woodward enter the day with a 53-53 mark.

Manager
Texas Rangers – South Atlantic League (Class A Advanced)

Hagen is in his second year of leading the Rangers' Class A Full Season Affiliate Hickory. The Crawdads are currently in the race for the top spot in the Northern Division second half standings. Hickory starts the day a half game out of first place. Overall, the Crawdads have the second-best overall record in the league with a 65-37 mark.
