Liberty athletics had a lot of memorable highlights throughout the 2018-19 season and LFSN's Game On compiled its list of the Top 5 Plays from the 2018-19 season.
#5: Field Hockey's goal against Virginia
Alivia Klopp delivered the dramatic game-winning goal to defeat No. 3 Virginia with 1:45 to play in the game. Agueda Moroni sent the ball towards the right post, finding a diving Klopp. Klopp's perfect tip went past Virginia netminder Lucas Carrera and into the back of the net for her second goal of the year, giving Liberty its first lead of the game. The play was No. 9 on SportsCenter's Top 10.
#4 Caleb Homesley's dunk against South Carolina State
Caleb Homesley was a highlight reel in his junior season, making ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays multiple times this year. His first Top 10 nomination was against South Carolina State, throwing down an alley-oop dunk from Lovell Cabbil Jr. The dunk was No. 10 on SportsCenter's Top 10.
#3 Football's touchdown at UMass
Khaleb Coleman scored one of the most unique touchdowns that you will ever see. Liberty's Stephen "Buckshot" Calvert threw a deep pass downfield and was picked off by UMass but the return was fumbled and Khaleb Coleman scooped up the loose ball to return it 21 yards for a score.
#2 Keenan Gumbs' dunk over FGCU
In just one season with the Flames, Keenan Gumbs brought the crowd to its feet on multiple occasions at the Vines, none bigger than his dunk against FGCU. Gumbs' monster dunk over the Eagles was featured as No. 3 on SportsCenter's Top 10.
#1 Ayden Karraker's miraculous catch over the wall
Ayden Karraker garnered national attention for his catch of a foul ball in the fourth inning of the Flames' win over Wake Forest on Feb. 19 at Liberty Baseball Stadium. The running catch of a foul ball, before flipping over the side fence and onto the grass berm was the No. 1 play of the night on SportsCenter and was Scott Van Pelt's "the best thing I saw today" on his ESPN Show. It also gained immediate attention as it was tweeted on Major League Baseball's twitter.
