Liberty XC Announces 2019 Schedule

2019 Liberty Cross Country Schedule

The 2019 Liberty men's and women's cross country teams will compete within the Commonwealth of Virginia four times, headlined by the season-opening Liberty Challenge on Aug. 30.

The Liberty Challenge will take place on the course which played host to the 2017 Big South Cross Country Championships, adjacent to the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

Liberty will also make the short trip north to Earlysville, Va., twice. The Flames and Lady Flames will compete at both the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational (Sept. 27) and NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships (Nov. 15) at Virginia's Panorama Farms course.

The Flames' other in-state meet will be the low-key Hokie Open, Nov. 8 in Blacksburg, Va. That is one of two "B" team races on Liberty's 2019 schedule, along with the Sept. 27 Queen City Invite in Charlotte, N.C.

Liberty's second year of ASUN Conference competition will take the Flames to the Sunshine State twice. Liberty will venture to Fort Myers, Fla., for the Sept. 7 FGCU Invite, previewing the course for the 2019 ASUN Cross Country Championships (Nov. 2).

The NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will return to a familiar venue (Terre Haute, Ind.) for the first time since 2016 on Nov. 23. Liberty will get its first look at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Oct. 19 Pre-National Invitational, the team's lone scheduled competition during the month of October.
