Thomas-Smith will join the Flames in fall 2019.
The Liberty men's tennis program and head coach Derek Schwandt have announced the signing of Deji Thomas-Smith for the 2019-20 school year.
"We are honored to bring Deji into the Flames family. He is a great competitor, student and athlete," Schwandt said. "He will bring our training and match environment to a new level of intensity."
Thomas-Smith hails from London, United Kingdom and attends Barnet Southgate College. He has reached as high as No. 20 in Great Britain's national rankings. His list of accomplishments includes winning a national grade 2 doubles title in 2018 and also reaching the singles final.
Thomas-Smith also finished runner-up in another grade 2 national doubles tournament. He has been a part of two national championship-winning Surrey Tennis teams and is part of the Surrey team which is in the top national division.
Thomas-Smith is the third player in the Flames' recruiting class, joining Joseph Emerson (Whittier, Calif.) and Rafael Marques Da Silva (São Paulo, Brazil).
