Just prior to the start of the ASUN spring championship season, LibertyFlames.com's Alan York had a chance to visit with Director of Athletics Ian McCaw.

Coming up on the one year anniversary of Liberty's announcement to join the ASUN Conference, Liberty Athletics finds its in first place in the standings for the Bill Bibb Trophy, the ASUN All-Sports award.

Having won three out of four of the winter sports championship titles (men's basketball, men's indoor track and women's indoor track), Liberty claimed to the top of the all-sports standings. Liberty holds a 2.03 percentage edge over second place Florida Gulf Coast in the all-sports standings (Liberty – 81.25%; FGCU – 79.22%).

Liberty is current in first or second place in all five of the ASUN spring sports team standings (baseball, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis and women's lacrosse).

During the next week, four spring sport ASUN Championships will be decided. The men's and women's tennis championship started today and will conclude on Saturday (hosted by Stetson in DeLand, Fla.).
