• Liberty takes to the road for the first of four straight midweek road contests on Tuesday. The Flames will face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for the second time this season. Liberty defeated Wake Forest 9-3 on Feb. 19 at Liberty Baseball Stadium.

• The Flames enter Tuesday's contest with a 7-1 in midweek games and have won six straight. Of the six wins, five have come against ACC opponents. This past Tuesday, Liberty blanked Richmond 7-0 at Liberty Baseball Stadium, recording its fifth shutout of 2019.

• Liberty went 3-1 on its last road trip and is 7-5 on the road this season. The Flames will close out their regular season by playing 13 of its last 20 games on the road.

• The Flames will host a three-game series against North Carolina A&T, starting Thursday at Liberty Baseball Stadium. After the series, Liberty begins  a nine-game road trip, its longest of 2019, at Virginia next Tuesday. The Flames, 20-3 at home, will not return to Liberty Baseball Stadium unitl May 10th when ASUN opponent Lipscomb comes to Lynchburg for a three-game series.

• In their first season as members of the ASUN Conference, the Flames top the conference's standings with a 9-3 record. Liberty took two out of its three-games with ASUN defending champion Stetson, this past weekend.

• Liberty's bats have heated up since starting ASUN Conference play on March 22. The Flames have raised their team batting average 31 points from .241 to .271, while boosting their on base percentage  20 points and slugging percentage 40 points over the 15-game span. Liberty has also more than doubled its HR total (from  nine to 20) during that time. On Sunday, Liberty collected a season-high 22 hits in its 15-4 victory over Stetson.

• Over its last 15 games, Liberty has gone 12-3 and scored 118 runs. The 15-game run total is more than the 114 runs the Flames scored in their first 20 games of this year.

• Entering the week, the Flames lead the ASUN Conference  and are 10th nationally with a 2.96 ERA. Liberty also has a  team WHIP of 1.16,  which is 11th in the country. Right-hander Garret Price leads the conference and is fouth in the nation with a 0.91 ERA.

Around the Diamond

  • Jonathan Embry collected a career high four hits in the Flames' win over Stetson on Sunday. The redshirt junior scored three times and drove in two runs in the contest. Embry is tied for the ASUN lead and leads the Flames with 36 runs scored.
  • Logan Mathieu belted a two-run home run in the fourth inning in game two of Liberty's doubleheader victory over Stetson, Saturday.  The sophomore added another hit in the contest and scored three times. Mathieu leads the Flames with five home runs and is third in the ASUN with 33 RBI.
  • Will Wagner set a new career-high four hits in Sunday's victory with four. He reached career highs with three RBI and three runs scored in the game.  Wagner has hit .375 with 14 RBI over his last 10 games.
  • For the third time this season, Tyler Galazin drove in three runs in a game in Liberty's win on Sunday. The senior also had three hits in the contest to post his ninth multi-hit game of the season.
  • In Liberty's 12 road games this season, Cam Locklear has hit .342 batting and leads the team with a .500 on base percentage.  This past weekend at Liberty Baseball Stadium, Locklear hit his fourth home run of the season in Liberty's game two win over Stetson and had three hits in Flames' win on Sunday.
  •  Gray Betts collected two hits on Sunday and has had at least one hit in six out of his last seven games. The freshman has hit .478 and scored a team-high 10 runs during the seven-game span. He has also walked seven times and has a .606 on base percentage over that time period.
  • Brandon Rohrer has been one of the Flames'  hottest hitters over the past several weeks. Over his last 15 games, the sophomore has team-leading .419 batting average with 26 hits. Over the span, he has raised his batting average  his season batting average 67 points from .283 to a team-leading .350.
  • Since taking over the designated hitter spot, Ben Highfill has at least one hit in each contest. In game two of  Saturday victory over Stetson, Highfill had a two-run single in the seventh inning, giving him 11 RBI in the 22 games this season.
  • Garret Price came on in the fifth inning during game two of Saturday's doubleheader and pitched a scoreless final five innings to record his fifth victory of the season. The right-hander did not give up a hit and allowed just one walk. He struck out a season-high seven. Price leads the ASUN and is fourth nationally with a 0.91 ERA.
