No. 20 Liberty wrapped up its regular season schedule on Saturday when the Flames finished tied for third place at a rain-shortened 2019 Stitch Intercollegiate.
The Flames (284-281) finished the 36-hole event tied with tournament host and No. 26 ranked NC State (291-274). Both teams carded an 11-under par 565 on the MacGregor Downs Country Club (par 72, 6,973 yards).
No. 3 Wake Forest used the soft playing conditions to their advantage on Saturday, closing the tournament with an 11-under par 277 to post a winning score of 14-under par 562 (285-277).
No. 21 Louisville finished one shot off the overall pace, taking second place with a 13-under par 563 (282-281).

Field Reflections: • The event was shortened to 36 holes after moderate to steady rains hampered playing conditions on both Friday and Saturday. • Play was halted at 4:55 p.m. on Friday when thunder and lightning moved into the area during the afternoon. When play was suspended, most players had seven to eight holes left to play during their second round. • Just as play resumed on Saturday morning, the rains returned and continued to affect play during the two hours it took to complete the second round on Saturday morning. • The only other team to finish under par outside of the top four teams was Campbell, with Liberty's former Big South foe finishing in fifth place with a 2-under par 574 (286-288). • Wake Forest's Cameron Young (68-68), who is individually ranked No. 19 in the country, and NC State's Stephen Franken (69-67, who is ranked No. 36, finished the event tied atop the 84-player leaderboard with an 8-under par 136. • Franken took medalist honors in a playoff, securing an exemption into the Web.Com Tour's Rex Hospital Open, which will be held May 30 - June 2 at The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, N.C.
Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes: • Jonathan Yaun paced Liberty during the event, finishing tied for fifth place with a 4-under par 140 (71-69). • The freshman tied the low round of his rookie season on Saturday and posted the first top-five finish of his collegiate career. • Ervin Chang (70-71), who is ranked No. 28 in the country, and Kieran Vincent (71-70) shared 10th place with a 3-under par 141. • Vincent finished the event with a pair of sub-par rounds, giving him 14 rounds at par or better this season. • Chang posted his team-leading seventh top-10 finish and has now finished the last seven tournaments with an under-par total score. • Zach Bardin, who was competing as an individual, closed the event with a 3-under par 69, the first sub-70 round of the sophomore's collegiate career. • The tournament served as Liberty's final event before participate in the 2019 ASUN Men's Golf Tournament, the Flames first-ever appearance at the championship event during Liberty's inaugural season in the new league.
