Competing in the first heptathlon of her senior season, Liberty's Kylie Polsgrove sits in seventh place with 3,195 points after the opening day of the Tennessee Relays, Thursday at Tom Black Track.
Polsgrove began her afternoon with a season-best 14.22 clocking in the 100 hurdles. Her best-ever hurdles time within a heptathlon ranks No. 3 in the ASUN this season and No. 5 all-time among Liberty heptathletes.
Following a 5-3.75 high jump clearance, Polsgrove posted back-to-back personal-best marks. Her 37-3 shot put added eight inches to her previous best.
Polsgrove then punctuated her day with a wind-aided 25.17 clocking in the 200 dash, the fastest effort by a Lady Flames heptathlete in 12 years.
Up Next Liberty will wrap up its competition at the Tennessee Relays on Friday. Polsgrove will resume the heptathlon at 3 p.m. with the long jump. Fellow senior Delaney McDowell will race in the women's 800 at 5:25 p.m.
