Spring Game Festival Information

Football Season Tickets on Sale

With 12 spring practice sessions in the books, Liberty's football team is gearing up to welcome fans inside Williams Stadium for the program's annual Spring Football game, Saturday afternoon, starting at 1 p.m.

This year's spring football game will showcase the Flames development under the direction of new Liberty Football Coach Hugh Freeze, this spring.

Scoring System

Unlike previous spring football games, this year's contest will follow a more traditional game-like format.

Liberty's offensive and defensive units will square off against each other during four 12-minute quarters. Each quarter will have a running clock (outside of time outs and change of possession) until the final two minutes of the first and second half. During the final two minutes of each half, clock management will follow traditional in-game stoppages.

The spring game will use a basic scoring system with the defense spotted a 24-0 lead going into the contest. The offense can add to their point total with traditional scoring methods (touchdowns and field goals).

The defense can add to its point total by returning an interception/fumble for a touchdown (six points, plus one point for the extra points) or by limiting the offense to a field goal following a turnover that does not result in a return for a touchdown.

LFSN Radio Pregame Show

As part of the festivities leading up to the game, the Liberty Flames Sports Network will host a radio pregame show from the concourse inside Williams Stadium. The live radio show will run from Noon to 1 p.m. and will feature Alan York, "Voice of the Flames" and football play-by-play broadcaster, along with LFSN football sideline reporter Nick Pierce.

The hour-long show will also feature segments with Matt Warner, LFSN TV play-by-play broadcaster, and Paul Rutigliano, York's radio broadcasting partner and color analyst.

The show can be heard live on the statewide radio network of The Journey FM (flagship station: 88.3 FM Lynchburg/Roanoke) and at the following Listen Live link. The show will also air live on the Liberty Flames Athletics Facebook page.
