Liberty men's tennis will officially kick off its ASUN journey with a pair of upcoming matches over the weekend.

First, the Flames will travel to Kennesaw, Ga. on Saturday for their first-ever ASUN match against the Kennesaw State Owls. First serve will be at 5 p.m. at the Betty Siegel Tennis Courts.

Liberty will then head to Florence, Ala. for an ASUN contest on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Eastern against the North Alabama Lions at the UNA Varsity Tennis Courts. The Liberty-UNA match was originally slated for Monday afternoon but was bumped up a day due to impending inclement weather in Alabama.

Liberty enters its conference portion of the schedule with a 6-9 overall mark. The Flames split a pair of non-conference matches in Arizona last week. They defeated Grand Canyon 5-2 last Tuesday before falling to No. 29 Arizona 6-1 last Thursday.

Kennesaw State is 6-8 in 2019 and has won two straight. The Owls are 5-1 at home on the year, including recent victories against Jacksonville State (Tuesday) and Tennessee Tech (Wednesday). North Alabama is currently 1-10 overall and will meet Lipscomb in its first conference match, Saturday at home, prior to squaring off with the Flames.

The Flames and KSU Owls met just over a year ago prior to Liberty joining the ASUN Conference. Liberty won that match 4-3 on Feb. 4, 2018 in Peachtree Corners, Ga. The Flames and UNA Lions will be squaring off for the first time.
