Fuchs Selected ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week

Following his second top-five finish of the season, Liberty's Alexandre Fuchs has been named this week's ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week.

The sophomore finished tied for second place at last weekend's Linger Longer Invitational, carding an 8-under par 208 (71-66-77) at The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee course in Greensboro, Ga. (par 72, 6,991 yards).

Fuchs' runner-up finish helped the Flames finish the event in second place, six shots behind No. 15 Georgia. Liberty's second-place finish was the program's sixth top-five finish in a row and helped the Flames move up to No. 18 in the Golfstat national rankings this week, the highest ranking in program history.

This is the second time this season Fuchs has been selected the ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week. The sophomore shared the weekly conference honors with fellow teammate Gabe Lench after both golfers claimed medalist honors at the Intercollegiate at the Grove tournament on Oct. 27-28, 2018.

Fuchs' second-round 6-under par 66 at the Linger Longer Invitational matched his 6-under par 66 during the second round of the Intercollegiate at The Grove.

During the second round, Fuchs posted an eagle on the par-5, No. 2 hole (490 yards) and recorded birdies on six holes over an eight-hole stretch late in the round. Fuchs led the field in par-4 scoring, posting a 3.77 scoring average on the par-4 holes (7-under par).

On the season, Fuchs ranks fourth on Liberty's roster with a 73.46 season stroke average.
