•  Liberty and Hofstra will be meeting for second time in program history, Friday in Lynchburg. The Flames hold a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series after taking a three-game series between the two teams at Worthington Stadium in 2005.
• The Flames collected a season-high 14 hits and scored a season-high 14 runs in a 14-5 win over Virginia on Tuesday.  With the win, Liberty remains unbeaten at Liberty Baseball Stadium at 9-0.
• The Flames will play 10 of their next 11 games at home to finish out the month of March. Head Coach Scott Jackson's team's only road game during that stretch will be a trip to Blacksburg, Va., to face Virginia Tech on the 26th.
• Liberty pitchers have held opposing batters to a .208 battting average and posted a 1.13 WHIP.  Entering the weekend, the Flames rank 16th nationally in WHIP and 18th in hits allowed per nine innings (6.69).

Last season, scoring first was an important ingredient in the Flame' success. Liberty posted a 25-7 record when plating the first run of a contest, while having a 7-19 mark when its opponents scored the contest's first run.

So far in 2019, the Flames are 7-2 in games in which they have scored first. Liberty has also posted a 5-2 record in games which its opponents plated the first run of the contest. The Flames have scored a run in eight of its 16 games.

  • 1B Logan Mathieu went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two walks and two RBI in Liberty's win over Virginia on Tuesday. Mathieu has reached base safely in all 16 Liberty games and leads the Flames with 18 walks.
  • 2B Will Wagner leads the Flames with a .404 batting average and 23 hits.  The sophomore enters the weekend with an 11-game hit streak, the longest of his career and by a Flame this season.
  • 3B Tyler Galazin has at least one hit in each of his last eight games, hitting .406. In addition, he has walked six times to post a .500 on base percentage during the span.
  • SS Cam  Locklear hit his first home run of the season and drove in three runs on Tuesday. He has at least one RBI in each of his last eight games. During the span, he has driven in 12 runs.
  • OF Jaylen Guy recorded his first three-hit game of his college career on Tuesday. He doubled, stole a base and scored twice. The freshman leads the ASUN Conference in stolen bases with eight.
  • P Noah Skirrow leads the ASUN Conference and is 13th nationally with 37 strikeouts.  The sophomore  also leads the conference with 25 2/3 innings pitched.
