In celebration of Liberty men's basketball's first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2013, the Flames will host a NCAA Tournament Selection Show Watch Party on Sunday, March 17, as the Flames will see where they play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The event will take place at 5 p.m. in the Vines Center and is free to the public.
The Flames Club will be hosting the watch party and all Flames Nation members are welcomed to attend. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with the Selection Show to begin at 6 p.m. on CBS. Fans will get the opportunity to meet the team and see who the Flames' first-round opponent will be in the Big Dance. The men's basketball team will be there with Sparky and the cheerleaders. Light refreshments will be served.
This was a season for Flames Nation to remember as Liberty set a school record with 28 wins at the Division I level and set a school record with 14 non-conference wins. Liberty's win in the ASUN Championship at Lipscomb gave the Flames 11 road wins for the first time in school history, which was part of the program's third straight 20-win season (28-6).
This is the fourth time the team has qualified for the NCAA Tournament and the first time since 2013.
