No. 18 Baylor scored five times during the second inning, on the way to a 6-1 win over No. 22 Liberty, Sunday at Nancy Almaraz Stadium.

With the win, Baylor improves to 3-1 at the season-opening Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, while Liberty falls to 1-3 on the young season.

Notable Numbers
- Baylor outhit Liberty, 8-5, for the game. The Lady Flames registered three errors and the Bears sustained two errors.

- Regan Green (1-1) earned the win, allowing just one hit and striking out two in 3 1/3 innings of work in relief. Starter Madison Lindsey gave up one run on four hits in 3 2/3 innings.

- Julia DiMartino (1-2) drew the loss, giving up four runs, three earned, in 1 2/3 innings pitched. Chase Cassady pitched the final 5 1/3 innings, striking out seven and yielding one run on three hits.

- Kassidy Krupit went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs scored and one RBI for Baylor, while Taylor Ellis batted 2-for-3 and scored once.

- Amber Bishop went 2-for-4 for Liberty, while Jaclyn Amader went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Turning Point
- Liberty left the bases loaded to end the first inning, when Amader flied out to left field.

- The Bears responded by scoring five times in the ensuing half inning to take control of the ballgame. All five Baylor runs scored after there were two outs in the top of the second. Braelyn Cooper and Cassady both came on in relief of DiMartino in the inning.

Beyond the Box Score
- This was the first game in program history in which both Liberty and its opponent appeared in the current national top 25.

- Baylor is now 6-1 all-time against Liberty, winning each of the last six meetings.

- Liberty won the first-ever meeting between the two programs, a 4-0 victory over the Bears, March 16, 2007 in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

- With her seven strikeouts today, Cassady entered a tie for 10th place in program history with Amy Csider (1998-01) with 303 career strikeouts.
