Liberty's Delaney McDowell, a four-time conference champion at the 800-meter distance, made a successful seasonal debut in the four-lap race, Friday at the Tyson Invitational. The senior's 2:08.27 clocking at the Randal Tyson Track Center is the fastest indoor time of her career and the best effort by an ASUN 800-meter runner this season.

McDowell placed sixth in the event with a time which ranks her No. 3 in program history. She also qualified for the ECAC meet in a fourth different event this season, along with the 1,000, mile and 4 x 400 relay.

Fellow senior Alejandro Perlaza Zapata came in 12th in the seeded portion of the men's 400 with a 48.42 clocking.

All-American Jovaine Atkinson posted his fastest 60 hurdles time (8.01) since the season-opening Hokie Invitational on Jan. 18. However, he was unable to advance to the final.
