Noah Tindale, a standout distance runner from upstate New York, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Liberty University for the 2019-20 academic year.
"We are very excited to have Noah joining the Flames family," stated Liberty Interim Head Cross Country Coach Rebekah Ricksecker. "He is an extremely talented middle-distance runner who also has a great deal of potential to help the team in cross country. He's a great fit for Liberty both as an athlete and as a person."
Tindale is a senior at Guilderland High School in Guilderland Center, N.Y. He recently placed ninth at the New York Section 2 Cross Country Championships, marking the fifth straight year he has posted a top-10 finish at the event. Tindale's best showing at the New York Federation Championships was 23rd place, achieved in both 2016 and 2017.
On the track, Tindale has appeared at the New York state meet in four different events (800, 1,600, 4 x 400 and 4 x 800) during his career. His top state finishes to date have been second place in the 4 x 800 relay in 2015 and third place in the 800 in 2017. Tindale's personal bests include 1:52.90 in the 800 and 4:14.98 in the 1,600.
Tindale will look to continue the tradition of strong Liberty men's distance runners from New York. Josh and Jordan McDougal (Peru) and Josh and Caleb Edmonds (Cooperstown) all hailed from the Empire State.
