Chang Takes Home ASUN Weekly Golf Honor

Following his third career top-five finish, Liberty's Ervin Chang has been named the ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week, sharing the honor with Kennesaw State's Connor Coffee.

Chang finished tied for third place at last weekend's Grandover Collegiate, an event hosted by UNCG at the Grandover Resort East Course (par 72, 7,245 yards) in Greensboro, N.C.

Chang's performance helped the Flames finish the event in second place, Liberty's second top-two team finish of the fall season.

Chang is the third Liberty player to receive ASUN weekly honors this fall. Liberty's Gabe Lench and Alexandre Fuchs shared ASUN Men's Golfer of the Week honors after the pair tied for first place at the Intercollegiate at The Grove.

After claiming the team title at the Intercollegiate at The Grove event, Oct. 7-9, and a runner-up finish at last weekend's Grandover Collegiate, Liberty is currently ranked No. 33 in in the country in both the Golfstat.com and Golfweek.com collegiate rankings.

A Closer Look – Noting Chang's Performance at the Grandover Collegiate:
• Stats: T3 2-under par 214 (74-71-69) at the Grandover Collegiate
• Tournament field included: No. 3 Duke, No. 35 Liberty, No. 38 Northwestern, No. 49 Penn State (Golfstat.com rankings)
• Second tournament this fall Chang has finished with a under-par final score
• Liberty led the 12-team field in total pars (169), led by Chang's 41 pars out of 56 holes
• Finished the event with a 3-under par 69, his second sub-70 round of the fall season and the 14th of his Liberty playing career
• Third career top-five finish and eighth career top-10 finish
