Liberty men's basketball head coach Ritchie McKay and the team will give fans a chance to get a first look at the 2018-19 squad as they open practice to public. The practice will take place on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Vines Center.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. at the Vines Center and the team will begin its practice. The first 100 fans will receive a t-shirt and practice will begin at 7 p.m. where Sparky and Liberty cheerleaders will greet fans. During the practice, there will be giveaways, free food and music. At 7:30 the voice of the Flames, Alan York, will introduce the players and following the player introductions, there will be time for fan interaction with the players and coaches and the team will host an autograph session. Fans will have the chance to shoot for prizes on the court with McKay. Chestnut Hill Bakery will be providing cookies for fans during the event.
This will be the first chance for fans to see the team in action as they prep for its first season in the ASUN Conference as the season kicks off on Nov. 8 at the Vines Center against Maine Fort Kent. Season tickets can be purchased here.
This will be the first of two events that Liberty will basketball will host during this week as the Flames will host Virginia Tech in a Hurricane Relief Exhibition game. The exhibition is open to the public as general admission tickets are being sold for $10 to the general public and $5 for students. Liberty Faculty/Staff and 2018 Flames Club Members will be able to purchase tickets in the premium ticketed areas by logging into their ticket account online or calling the Ticket Office. Doors will open to the arena one hour prior to tip-off and tickets can be purchased here or by calling 434-582-SEAT (7328).
