Liberty defeated Providence 4-0 on Friday night.
The 18th-ranked Lady Flames field hockey team shut out host Providence 4-0, Friday evening at Lennon Family Field in its BIG EAST Conference and regular season finale.
With the victory, Liberty (12-5, 6-1 BIG EAST) has clinched the No. 2 seed for the upcoming BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship. The victory gives the Lady Flames their sixth BIG EAST regular season triumph, a new program record. Providence (11-7) sees its conference record fall to 4-3, and the Friars will be the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament.
Liberty senior Agueda Moroni scored twice in the contest, her 24th and 25th goals of the season, and has now matched the program record for career goals with 54. Lady Flames freshmen Alivia Klopp and Charlotte Vaanhold scored as well for the visitors, while junior goalkeeper Allison Schaefer notched her third clean sheet of the season.

Turning Point Liberty generated quality chances with six shots on goal during the first 21 minutes before finally breaking through at the 23:54. Senior Moniek van Aarle sent a centering pass from the right side to Klopp, who one-timed a shot info the cage for a 1-0 Lady Flames lead.
Late in the first half, Moroni scored on a rebound off a Kemy Meidane shot in the 33rd minute, providing Liberty a 2-0 cushion.
