Liberty women's soccer competed in its first ever ASUN match to open up conference play on the road against Kennesaw State. The Lady Flames were in control for the majority of the game, outshooting the Owls but KSU convereted on two scoring chances, giving Kennesaw State the 2-0 win. Liberty falls to 1-8 while Kennesaw State improves to 8-2-1.

Despite outshooting Kennesaw State 12-6 throughout the game, the Owls converted a goal midway through the first half that had the Lady Flames trailing from behind most of the game.

"I thought we were the better team for much of the game tonight. We played well, but continue to find ways to lose rather finding ways to win. We will keep pushing to find that winner's mentality."
Liberty will host its first ever ASUN contest at home on Sunday, Sept. 23, when the Lady Flames host NJIT. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Osborne Stadium.
