Last weekend, Liberty's road game at Army was more than just another first during the Flames' inaugural FBS season, because of the personal connection for a few players.
During the Flames' first-ever road game as a FBS program, Austin Lewis, Mitchell Hurtado and Devin Pearson all were able to make a special connections with their family history at Michie Stadium.
Lewis, a freshman from Jonesborough, Tenn., Hurtado, a senior from Anaheim, Calif., and Pearson, a redshirt junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, each have family members who have served in the United States Army.
Liberty's trip to West Point, N.Y., allowed Lewis to honor his father, Mike Lewis, Hurtado, his brother, Juan Hurtado, Jr., and Pearson's uncle Geno, who faithfully served to protect the freedom we enjoy each day in this great country.
LFSN Game On was on site during the Liberty vs. Army game, providing today's video feature.
