Silverado Invitational Information ITF Canada F7 Futures Website/Results
Liberty men's tennis will be sending five players to compete at the Silverado Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma State, starting on Friday. The Flames will also be represented at the ITF Canada F7 Futures tournament (beginning on Saturday), as sophomore Nicaise Muamba will play at the event.
Silverado Invitational Preview Senior Eddie Gutierrez, junior Chase Burton, freshman Farid Juri, freshman Ian Sturgill and freshman Josh Wilson will begin their seasons at the Silverado Invitational, held at the Silverado Resort and Spa, in Napa, Calif.
Gutierrez and Burton each won 23 singles matches during the 2017-18 campaign. Gutierrez, who hails from Mexico City, Mexico, is currently No. 9 in program history with 54 career singles victories. Burton led the Flames in victories with 18 as a freshman during the 2016-17 school year
The three-day tournament, held Friday through Sunday, will feature players from eight schools: Liberty, Oklahoma State, UNLV, San Francisco, Tulsa, Pepperdine, California and Hawaii.
Results from the invitational, as well as a recap, will be available at the conclusion of each day on LibertyFlames.com/menstennis.
ITF Canada F7 Futures Preview The ITF Canada F7 Futures will be held at the Aviva Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Muamba, in his first year of play, is entered in the singles qualifying draw (48 players), which will be contested Saturday-Monday. He will need to be victorious in three matches over the course of those three days to reach the singles main draw.
Muamba opened his season at the ITF Canada F6 Futures event, last weekend. The native of Laval, Quebec, Canada posted a 1-1 mark in two matches. The singles qualifying draw is yet to be released, but it will be made available on the schedule page of LibertyFlames.com/menstennis when it has been set.
