Moroni scored five goals in two games, last week.
A week after being named the national offensive player of the week, senior Agueda Moroni garnered honorable mention recognition in the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Weekly Awards on Wednesday.
Moroni is one of only six Division I players to be recognized at the national level (national offensive player of the week, national defensive player of the week and four honorable mention selections), this week.
Moroni, who is also already a two-time BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week recipient this season, tallied five goals in two road contests last week. She scored both Lady Flames goals in a 2-1 win against the Kent State Golden Flashes, last Friday.
Last Sunday at Ohio, Moroni notched her second hat trick of the season in a 7-0 Lady Flames victory over the Bobcats. All three of the Cordoba, Argentina native's goals came in the first 21:35 of play.
Moroni is currently No. 1 in the country in points per game (5.25) and No. 2 in goals per game (2.25). She leads the BIG EAST Conference in goals (9), assists (3, tied for first), points (21) and shots (24) through two weeks of play. Moroni and the Lady Flames are No. 2 in the nation goals per game (4.50) and scoring average (4.47), No. 4 in points per game (12.00) and No. 6 in scoring margin (2.98).
Moroni and the 16th-ranked Lady Flames (3-1) will play their next contest, their home opener, next Tuesday against the Longwood Lancers. The contest will commence at 5 p.m. at the Liberty Field Hockey Field.
