2007 Big South Champion Liberty Flames Adrian Bumbut, Joshua Boateng and Juan Guzman have been named to National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division I All-South Atlantic Region teams.

Forward Bumbut garnered second-team honors, while teammates Boateng and Guzman, both midfielders, received third-team selections. All three players were selected to regional teams for the first time in their careers.

Bumbut (Zalau, Romania) completed his Liberty career with his best season in 2007. A first-team All-Big South honoree, the forward tied for second in the conference and led Liberty in goals and points, with 12 and 29, respectively. The senior was selected to the VaSID All-State first team last week. In addition, Bumbut tied for the conference lead with five game-winning goals. With his banner season, the forward finished his career fourth on Liberty's all-time points list with 79. He also closed his Flames career with 32 goals, ranking fourth in program history.

Boateng (Accra, Ghana) was the 2007 Big South Tournament MVP after leading Liberty to its first-ever Big South Championship. The junior midfielder, a Big South all-conference and VaSID All-State second-team selection, finished ninth in the conference in points with 15 points on five goals and five assists in 2007. In addition, Boateng was named a member of both the College Soccer News National Team of the Week and the Soccer America Team of the Week for games played Nov. 12-18.

Guzman (Charlotte, N.C.), a sophomore, was named a first-team All-Big South performer this past fall. The midfielder started all 20 Liberty contests in 2007, netting two goals and assisting on three others for seven points. The midfielder scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win over Radford.
After fashioning a 13-5-2 record in 2007, Liberty captured its first Big South Championship and made its first appearance in the NCAA Men's College Cup. The Flames were ranked among the top teams in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) South Atlantic Region weekly poll the entire season.
