The buzz around Liberty's first-ever FBS season helped the Flames Club reach a new milestone, as the athletics department booster club has sold out of club seating at Williams Stadium for the first time.
The 678-seat club seating area was added during the 2010 Williams Stadium expansion project, which included the construction of the Williams Stadium Tower and expanded seating capacity from 12,000 to 19,200. The Flames Club has inched closer to a sell out in the premium seating area each of the last eight seasons.
The minimum Flames Club qualification to purchase tickets in the club seating area is a Director's Level Membership ($3,000), which then qualifies the donor to purchase six club seats at $325 per seat.
Members at the Scholarship Level ($25,000), Founder's Level ($12,000), and President's Level ($6,000) enjoy higher priority for seat location, and qualify to purchase a greater number of club seats.
Club seats include access to the 10,000-square-foot third-floor Club Pavilion in the Williams Stadium Tower, where a high-end heavy hors d'oeuvres buffet meal is served beginning two hours before kickoff.
The Club Pavilion features lounge furniture, TVs, and exclusive restrooms for club seat holders. Club seat holders also receive elite parking privileges in the lots closest to Williams Stadium.
Current club seat holders will have priority when loge box seats are introduced in the next phase of the expansion of Williams Stadium. Loge boxes are intended to bridge the gap between club seats and the fourth-floor private luxury suites.
The Flames Club also oversees the sales for Liberty's luxury suites, located on the fourth floor of the Williams Stadium Tower. The luxury suites sell for $30,000 for the season and include 16 season tickets, game-day catering and four parking passes.
The 18 luxury suites sold out in early June, and have had a 99 percent occupancy rate since they were introduced in 2010.
Those interested in future club seats, loge boxes, or luxury suites should contact the Flames Club for information on obtaining those for the 2019 season, which the Flames open by hosting Syracuse on Aug. 31.
With Liberty having sold a record 3,100 season tickets prior to the start of the 2018 season, the best remaining option for members of Flames Nation to purchase tickets are the west premium chairbacks, which require membership in the Flames Club at the Flame Level ($300), and sell for $150 per seat for the season.
The Flames Club is also enjoying record membership, and tracking more than 20 percent ahead of this time last year.
Rise With Us: The Process
On Feb. 16, 2017, the NCAA approved Liberty's waiver request to begin the two-year FBS reclassification process. Liberty completed its final season as a FCS program in 2017, playing as a member of the Big South Conference.
The Flames will host their first FBS home game against Old Dominion on Sept. 1, the first of four FBS teams to visit Williams Stadium in 2018 to meet the FBS reclassification criteria. The 2018 home schedule also features FBS matchups against North Texas (Sept. 22), Troy (Oct. 13) and New Mexico State (Nov. 24).
In the event that Liberty is invited to the AutoNation Cure Bowl, Flames Club members will have priority for tickets and other associated events and privileges.
