As part of its coverage of Liberty's August Training Camp, LibertyFlames.com continues its position previews today talking about the Flames' fullbacks and tight ends positions.

During Liberty's Football Media Day event in early August, offensive coordinator Joe Dailey spoke about plans to utilize the Flames' tight ends and fullbacks more this upcoming season.

The Flames return one of two starters at these two positions in redshirt junior Zac Foutz. The native of Roanoke, Va., saw playing time in all 11 games in 2017 and started six when Liberty opened the game with a tight end on the field. He recorded five of his six career receptions last year, finishing the season with 51 total receiving yards.

Adding depth behind Foutz will be sophomore Fidel Ogbeifun and redshirt freshman Jerome Jackson. Ogbeifun saw playing time in seven of Liberty's 11 games in 2017, with most of his playing coming as a part of Liberty's special teams units.

Former running back Mitchell Lewis and sophomore Michael Bollinger will battle for playing time at Liberty's fullback position. Lewis played in all 11 games in 2017, finishing the season with 10 carries for 35 yards as a member of the running back group. Bollinger saw time in six games as a true freshman, last year.

Rise With Us: The Process

On Feb. 16, 2017, the NCAA approved Liberty's waiver request to begin the two-year FBS reclassification process. Liberty completed its final season as a FCS program in 2017, playing as a member of the Big South Conference.

The Flames will host their first FBS home game against Old Dominion on Sept. 1, the first of four FBS teams to visit Williams Stadium in 2018 to meet the FBS reclassification criteria. The 2018 home schedule also features FBS matchups against North Texas (Sept. 22), Troy (Oct. 13) and New Mexico State (Nov. 24).

In the event that Liberty is invited to the AutoNation Cure Bowl, Flames Club members will have priority for tickets and other associated events and privileges.
