Muamba will be one of five newcomers on Liberty's eight-man 2018-19 roster.
Liberty Men's Tennis Head Coach Derek Schwandt has announced the addition of Nicaise Muamba for the 2018-19 academic year.
"It is an honor to welcome Nicaise to the Liberty family. Nicaise is an extremely hard worker and has a big vision for his tennis career," Schwandt said. "Our coaching staff is excited about the energy, passion, athleticism and competitive spirit that Nicaise will bring to our team. We can't wait to start working with him."
Muamba, who hails from Laval, Quebec, Canada, competed for the Tennessee Volunteers in spring 2018 and also boasts an impressive junior tennis resume.
At Tennessee, Muamba posted a 12-5 mark in singles play, along with seven doubles victories.
Muamba captured the U18 Outdoor Rogers Junior national championships in 2016 as a 15-year-old and made the finals of the U18 Canadian National indoor championships in 2017. Muamba was also the Canadian national champion of the U16 division. Muamba sports a career-high ITF junior ranking of 223 and collected his first ATP points by reaching the quarterfinals of doubles in the Winnipeg Challenger in July 2017.
Muamba also represented his country in 2016 as a member of Canada's Junior Davis Cup team that reached the finals.
Muamba will be one of five newcomers on the Flames' eight-man roster, joining Farid Juri (No. 3 U18 Argentina), Ian Sturgill (5-Star USA recruit), Josh Wilson (British National U18 finalist), and William Barker (4-Star USA recruit).
