Ferguson will be joining the Lady Flames starting in the fall.
Liberty Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Kelly Nangle has announced the addition of Lizzy Ferguson for the 2018-19 academic year.
Ferguson, a midfielder from Fort Washington, Pa., is the 12th player to join Liberty's 2018-2019 recruiting class, joining Maggie Anderson, Andrea Colavito, Mikayla Coghill, Anna DiRita, Alexa Evernham, Hope Flack, Emma Kendrick, Morgan Learn, Meg Lieberman, Leah Ruby and Jennifer Soriero.
"I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to sign with my dream school," Ferguson said. "I am so grateful that the Lord has led me somewhere that is going to push me spiritually, academically and athletically."
Ferguson is still competing at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in Gwynedd Valley, Pa., serving as a captain during her senior season. Over the past two years on the varsity lacrosse squad, Ferguson has compiled 71 goals, 41 assists, 112 points, 78 ground balls and 43 draw controls. She has guided the Monarchs to a 27-15 overall mark during her sophomore and junior campaigns, with an appearance in the 3A state semifinals during her junior season.
"Lizzy Ferguson is what Gwynedd Mercy Academy Lacrosse is all about. Lizzy exemplifies the expectations of a Christian student-athlete," stated Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School Lacrosse Head Coach Deborah Lawlor. "Her faith, work ethic and spirit separate her from other players. It has been an amazing four years watching her grow into our leader and embracing her teammates and pushing them to be the best they can be. Her energy will remain with us as she graduates and takes her conviction to the next step in her journey."
