Before the Flames started their fifth and final week of spring football practice, Liberty wide receiver Antonio Gandy-Golden met with the media on Tuesday to discuss the team's workouts.
Gandy-Golden had a breakout season in 2017, leading the team and the Big South Conference in receiving yards (1,066) and receptions (69), while tying for the conference lead in touchdowns (10).
The rising junior finished 2017 with six 100-yard receiving games. He would have been listed No. 9 in the country in receiving yards per game if Liberty's players were eligible to be ranked in the national statistics.
The Flames wrapped up their spring practice session with practices No. 14 and 15 earlier this week on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. All of Liberty's spring practice workouts were closed to the general public and media. The Flames did not hold an annual Spring Football Game due to the current expansion project taking place at Williams Stadium.
During its five-week spring practice workouts, LibertyFlames.com continued to provide insight from the Flames' players and coaches as the team prepares for its first season of FBS competition. Be sure to check the websites' archives to see previous interview with head coach Turner Gill, assistant coaches and players.
