Quick Hits • Liberty returns home to Liberty Baseball Stadium for a six-game homestand, beginning Tuesday against Youngstown State. • Youngstown State and Liberty will meet for the first time on the diamond, this week. • Liberty has posted a 6-1 mark at Liberty Baseball Stadium, this season. • Liberty was picked to finish second in the 2018 Big South Preseason Poll by the league's head coaches. Enjoying Our Place Opening at home for the first time since 2005, the Flames are out to a 6-1 record at Liberty Baseball Stadium, this season. The Flames had never started a year at Liberty Baseball Stadium in the facility's history.
Liberty will play 13 of its first 17 games at home in 2018. Tuesday begins a six-game homestand for the Flames. Liberty will also host Canisius for a three-game series this weekend and George Mason on March 14.
Last season, the Flames went 15-11 at Liberty Baseball Stadium. Liberty has averaged 17 wins per season during the stadium's first five years.
Todd Leads the Nation Left fielder Tre Todd enters the week as the national leader with a .660 on base percentage. He has reached base 31 times in 47 plate appearances.
In addition, Todd leads the nation by averaging 1.64 walks per game. He is third in the country with 18 walks.
Around the Diamond • 1B Dylan Allen had three hits and four RBI, Sunday at North Carolina. Allen leads the Flames with 13 RBI. • SS Cam Locklear is tied for the team lead with four doubles. • OF Tre Todd belted his third home run of the season, Friday night at North Carolina. • With his 50th career stolen base last Friday, D.J. Artis has moved in the top 10 on the Liberty career list. Currently he is ninth all-time, four away from tying Aaron Grijalva (2005-08) for eighth. • DH Andrew Yacyk had two hits, including his first home run of the season, Sunday at North Carolina. Yacyk enters the week needing seven more doubles to move into the program's top 10 in doubles. • P Garret Price enters the week sixth in the nation with four saves. Price has converted all four of his save opportunities, this season.
