Liberty dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 16 Florida State on Saturday.

No. 16 Florida State triumphed over Liberty, 4-0, on its home courts at the Speicher Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Seminoles improve to 14-1 on the season. The Flames (5-6) see their two-match winning streak come to an end.

FSU got the best of the Flames in doubles (No. 1 and No. 3) and captured matches on courts six, five and two, in that order in singles to secure the overall victory.

"Credit to FSU for playing a solid match," stated Flames head coach Derek Schwandt. "We will look to build on this weekend and prepare for Longwood this Wednesday."

In doubles, the Seminoles' Aziz Dougaz and Lucas Poullain defeated the Flames' Diego Castano and Alex Poynter, 6-2. The hosts' Alex Knaff and Sebastian Arcila prevailed by the same score, lifting FSU to a one-point lead (1-0) in the match.

No. 6 singles player Arcila took down Samuel Brown in straight sets (6-1, 6-0). The No. 5 singles match between Max Borcuti (Liberty) and Rana Roop Bhullar (FSU) went to Florida State, 6-0, 6-3.

The final point for the Seminoles came from No. 53 Poullain, a 6-3, 6-1 winner against Burton on court two, closing the score at 4-0. The hosts held one-set leads in the other three matches before they went unfinished.

Despite the loss, Liberty took two of three matches over the last two days at FSU's Speicher Tennis Center.

The Flames are back in action on Wednesday against the Longwood Lancers. First serve in Liberty's Big South opener will take place at 2 p.m. in Farmville, Va.
